Disability Support Grants update

The Scholarship section on the How Much Will it Cost? page has been updated with more information on the Disability Information and Support Grants.

Disability Information and Support (DI&S) at the University of Otago is offering two grants, to a maximum value of $1,000 each, for students who have an impairment to assist them to attend Hands-On Science. Applications must be received by October 31.

Changes for 2012 and beyond

There are 3 major changes to the registration process for Hands-On Science.

Hands-On Science will now only be available for students entering Year 12 or Year 13 in the year of the camp. So for example for Hands-On Science 2012, you would need to be in year 11 or year 12 this year to be eligible. For Science Fair Prizewinners who may be younger than this, we will defer attendance until you are year 12 or 13. Continue reading

Hands on Science 2012

The 23rd Hands-On Science (HOS) will be held at the University of Otago, Dunedin, from 15 to 20 January 2012. Download the 2012 Enrolment Book for full details.

The goal of Hands-On Science is to demonstrate, in a friendly and interactive environment, some of the activities that scientists are involved in and to encourage talented young New Zealanders to consider science as a career. We do this by bringing over 200 secondary students to New Zealand’s oldest and most attractive university, an institution having an international reputation for excellence in scientific research and teaching.
